Grizzly Creek Raspberry Wheat
A festive ale made with real raspberries
You’re right, we do have a lot of beers named after locations within Glenwood Canyon. This is one of our favorite trails stretching 6.8 miles out and back. Don’t worry though, the grizzly bear has gone extinct in Colorado. If it hadn’t, it would probably be munching on raspberries somewhere on this trail. This hike is awesome in the summer, with tons of shade, and Grizzly Creek runs just beside the trail. This will keep you cool on a hot summer day. Come in for a cold one after your hike!
This American-Style fruit beer is an original to the Brewpub. We’ve been around since 1996, and while fruit beers have come and gone, and resurged again, we feel real fruit makes all the difference. This wheat-based beer has a small amount of Palisade hops to balance out the sweetness while the tannins from the raspberry seeds add a bit acidity to the finished beer.
We throw over 1/2 lbs of raspberries per gallon of beer into the end of fermentation. For those looking for something “wild” or “sour”, this beer may suffice. It will please just about anyone on a hot summer day.
